Can dogs eat bacon?

Dogs can’t eat bacon as bacon isn’t a health food. Bacon is delicious and smell good but it’s unsafe for dogs.

When pork is preserved by smoking, curing or salting, it’s called bacon. Study by Columbia University shows that the sodium nitrite is added to help preserve the pork may cause the chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Bacon contains high amounts of saturated fats and salt. Dogs can’t digest and absorb too much saturated fats and salt, they can cause an upset stomach, vomiting, diarrhea and even pancreatitis.

Beyond that, Bacon is high in calories, can increase the risk of both obesity and heart disease. The low in calories food is the best diet for dog because the dog which fed a calorie-limited food will reduce likelihood of developing arthritis.

Experts warned that eating just three slices of bacon everyday may increase the risk of bowel cancer by a fifth. So skip the bacon and instead choose unprocessed meat.

Bacon is bad for dog whether raw or cooked. No matter how much you dogs love the taste of bacon, don’t feed it when they beg you.
